Western Bulldogs believe Jordon Sweetâs best football is yet to come after re-signing the young ruckman until the end of 2023.
The 23-year-old was pick 23 in the 2018 rookie draft and he made his debut in round five this season against Gold Coast.

Bulldogsâ general manager of list management and football projects Sam Power said Sweet was important to the club.
âWeâre thrilled that Jordon will be continuing his football journey as a Bulldog,â Power said.
âHis ruck craft and ability to give midfielders first-use has come on in leaps and bounds, and we saw glimpses of what he can do at AFL level earlier in the season.
âWe know Jordon still has plenty of growth to come, so weâre looking forward to seeing his development continue to evolve.â
Geelong ruckman Darcy Fort remains the Brisbane Lions ruck target but the Cats are yet to open the door for the contracted 28-year-old.
The Cats have shown preliminary interest in the Hawks Jonathon Ceglar with the Bulldogs not going down that track having extended Jordon Sweetâs contract and with Stef Martin set to re-sign also, Ceglarâs preference is to stay in Victoria ruling out any chance he goes to the Lions.
The Hawks have their eyes on Collingwoodâs Max Lynch.
Geelong coach Chris Scott will be awarded a two-year contract extension, as the Cats look to remain in premiership contention next season.
Scott, the 2011 premiership coach, had a year to run on his contract but there had been speculation about his future amid upheaval at GMHBA Stadium after the Cats were crunched by eventual premier Melbourne in a preliminary final in Perth.

However, new Cats chief executive Steve Hocking and the board have backed Scott in.
Assistant coaches Matthew Scarlett, Matthew Knights and Corey Enright have left. James Kelly, a three-time premiership Cat, has rejoined the club as an assistant, while Eddie Betts, the former Blue and Crow, will be a part-time development coach. Assistant coach Nigel Lappin remains.

âWeâre in support of Sam Docherty, our captain, our teammate, it is terrific to see so many of the boys getting to shave their heads today,â Weitering said.
âIt is massive for the Peter Mac Foundation and we thank everyone who has donated so far. It is an awesome foundation, to support people like Doc, who are going through those hardships at the moment.
âI hope he is proud of us and we are certainly proud of him.â
A number of Carlton players shaved their heads today as a fundraiser for co-captain Sam Docherty and the Peter Mac Foundation.
Docherty is halfway through chemotherapy as he battles testicular cancer for a second time so his teammates wanted to do something in his honour so chose to shave their heads and raise money.
âOne of our own, Sam Docherty, is currently fighting a battle and as a club and broader community, we are wanting to show our support for him and the Peter Mac Foundation,â Blues co-captain Patrick Cripps said when promoting the fundraiser.
âWe will post before and after photos plus videos, and we would love for you to do the same and tag the Carlton Football Club and the Peter Mac Foundation.
âWe also want to raise funds for the Peter Mac Foundation to support their discovery of cancer cures. We are hoping to raise $5000.
âThank you in advance for your generosity, and we canât wait to see a few shaved heads getting around in support.â

âThey are each experienced football personnel who will add a diversity of views with their varied professional and sporting backgrounds,â Livingstone said.
âTrent and Bec will add the perspectives of current Head Coaches while Kate will provide valuable contributions as a Club President.

Magpies football general manager Graham Wright said Lynch was able to look at other clubs but the Magpies valued him as a back-up ruckman.
âWe havenât heard from Hawthorn yet so Iâm not sure where it sits with Lynchy,â Wright told AFL trade radio.
âWe would like to retain him but he wants to have a look around given he is behind Brodie Grundy and seeing a way past him is something he doesnât see but heâs still a valuable player.
âWe are happy for him to have a look around but we have told him there will be a spot here with us.â
Wright said on Friday he had yet to receive any offers for Cox who is out of contract but hadnât ruled out re-signing him for next season.
Thomas hasnât been offered a contract but is reportedly well-liked within the club so could have his future reviewed once trade period is over.
Rory Lobbâs manager Colin Young says GWS Giants have yet to make a contract offer to the Fremantle Dockers big man but it should come over the coming days.
Last night it appeared the deal could be in trouble after reports the Giants hadnât given Lobb an offer he liked despite being content to accept less money than he was making with Fremantle.
But Young told AFL trade radio on Friday that the Giants were still working out what they could offer the Dockers and what they could pay and how many years they could offer Lobb.
âAt no stage did I say the trade was over,â Young said to AFL trade radio on Friday.
âAll I said was we had a bit of work to do. Full credit to [journalist] Damian Barrett for finding out that this was going on, I actually said yesterday it was great the media hadnât got wind of it!
âIâll be meeting with Rory in the next hour. Weâve had only had light discussions with Jason McCartney, so thereâs a bit of work to do.â
