    More to come.

Melbourne were the most interesting players on day three of trade period, and on today’s Real Footy podcast special episode, Jake Niall and Daniel Cherny discuss the moves the Demons made and how it builds on their work in previous years. They have not only had good strategy but have excelled in the execution in recent years.

Gold Coast midfielder Will Brodie is reportedly on his way to join Fremantle as the Suns look to move his salary and open salary cap room for the coming seasons.

AFL.com.au is reporting the Suns will send Brodie and picks 19, 61, and 69 to the Dockers for their future second and fourth round picks.

We will now wait for official confirmation to come through but looks like a deal that serves the needs of both clubs with the Suns needing room to re-sign young stars and the Dockers looking for picks to potentially use in a trade for Geelong’s Jordan Clark.

If anyone in the history of football knows what it’s like to have a less than flattering reputation, it’s David Rhys-Jones. The Carlton great and 1987 Norm Smith medallist was infamously reported 25 times for a total of 22 games’ suspension across his career with the Blues and the Swans.

So as Toby Greene heads to yet another hearing on Thursday, Rhys-Jones empathises.

“I’ve got a good grasp of it,” Rhys-Jones says, laughing.

“You do get treated differently. You find that you can get rubbed out for things that Patty Dangerfield will get off on.

“That’s frustrating at times. People seem to make a bigger fuss about the individual more so than the actual action.”

Big utility Lewis Young could seal his move to Carlton from the Western Bulldogs today with manager Peter Rohde telling AFL Trade Radio the deal has been agreed.

Rohde said the Bulldogs have agreed on the pick they will receive from the Blues to send Young to the club.

They’ve already agreed on a pick. I’m very confident by the end of the day Lewis will find his way to Carlton,” Rohde told AFL Trade Radio.

Young played as a back-up ruckman late this season but he wants to play in defence and the Blues believe they have a role he can fill.

Lewis sees himself as a key defender. The Bulldogs have plenty of them and Carlton have a need there, so Lewis sees himself settling in the backline,” Rohde said.

G’day everyone. It’s Roy Ward here and I’ll be leading the line for today’s AFL trade period live blog.

We have had a good number of deals in the first three days and we are still to see some of the most talked about players move to new clubs so we will see if today is the day Adam Cerra finalises his move to Carlton or whether Jordan Dawson gets his move back to South Australia from Sydney.

We will also have coverage of the Toby Greene tribunal appeal which is due to start later this morning so please keep an eye out for that.

Please feel free to leave a comment on the blog and give us your opinion on our reader polls.

    Enjoy the day to come.
