AFL trade period LIVE updates day 1 Bulldogs big man requests trade to Carlton as Cerra talks continue Magpies Suns do pick deal
1 of 3
Collingwood has put out a press release confirming their picks trade with Gold Coast as The Ageâs Daniel Cherny reported earlier this afternoon.
The Magpies will receive picks 22, 46, 58 and 79 in this yearâs draft along with agreeing to swap fourth round picks with the Suns in 2022.
Those selections are expected to be used to cover any bids for father-son selection Nick Daicos and potentially help them secure trades for Patrick Lipinski and Nathan Kreuger.
The Suns will receive Collingwoodâs second, third and fourth-round picks in 2022.
âThis deal obviously gives us the scope to pursue a range of possibilities,â Collingwood GM of Football, Graham Wright, said.
âWe have happily been able to make a commitment to Nick Daicos and we are in discussions to acquire a few others. More broadly, the deal enables us to continue to build a stockpile of young talent.
âWe mined the draft last year to bring six of the first 44 players into our program. Close to half of our list are in the 1-3 year phases of their careers and todayâs agreement with the Suns will allow us to keep pursuing our strategy.â
This is our indicative AFL draft order panel which shows how the draft order currently plays out and which picks each club has.
The pick numbers can change after trade period as teams receive compensation for some player moves and teams could still trade live picks during the draft.
Toby Greene has been warned by those close to him that he is jeopardising what insiders believe should eventually be Hall of Fame recognition if he continues to add a long rap sheet.
Greater Western Sydney chiefs have made their displeasure with Greene clear as the AFL prepares to on Thursday challenge the severity of Greeneâs three-match suspension, which it has described as manifestly inadequate, for making intentional umpire contact to Matt Stevic in an elimination final against Sydney.
âBumpâ incident: Toby Greene and umpire Matt Stevic.
Giants officials are privately disappointed that the AFL has taken the case to its appeals board, with sources close to the club questioning whether there is an âanti Toby Greeneâ movement within the league.

The swap of picks between Collingwood and Gold Coast flagged early today is imminent.
Gold Coast is sending picks 22, 46, 58, 79 and a future 4th to Collingwood for future 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks.
Carlton AFLW players Charlotte Hammans, Jess Good and Paige Trudgeon made the most of IKON Park being covered in hail this afternoon by creating a couple of snow angels on the field.
This is not a trade post but still brilliant.
Sydney have rekindled their interest in Port Adelaide ruck/forward Peter Ladhams.
That interest remains preliminary at the moment but is genuine if the right deal could be found and comes after the Swans attempted to lure the contracted Ladhams to Sydney last season.
Port are keen for him to explore his options despite him having one year remaining on his deal.

North Melbourne has offered a slide of draft picks in the late rounds next year in an ambit opening bid for Richmondâs ruck forward Callum Coleman-Jones.

The Tigers and North are a long way apart in early discussions as Richmond wants the Roosâ pick 20 for the big man who has been offered a four-year deal to move to Arden Street.
Coleman-Jones was drafted with pick 20 four years ago.
Richmond was frustrated and disappointed at the playerâs decision to leave in the first instance believing opportunities would begin to open up in the Tigers senior team next season and beyond.
They also feel the player had been well supported by the club after his COVID breach at a Gold Coast strip joint and fight outside a kebab bar along with teammate Sydney Stack cost the club $100,000 in the salary cap and saw the players suspended at length.
North holds the first pick in the pre-season draft but it is unlikely the player or his management is keen to use this avenue to move.
North reasons the 22-year-old player has only played nine games since being drafted in 2017.
Coleman-Jones has spent most of his time as a back-up forward to premiership stars Tom Lynch and Jack Riewoldt.
The 200cm athletic tall played most of his junior football in the ruck and wants to play more as a ruckman than a forward.
Richmond has already lost versatile tall Mabior Chol this off-season with the ruck forward moving to the Gold Coast Suns as a free agent.
The Suns were in close negotiations with Coleman-Jones prior to securing Chol as a free agent.
North Melbourne ironman Ben Cunnington broke down in tears when describing the support he had received and his determination to return to the field after being diagnosed with a testicular tumour.
Cunnington, 30, finished runner-up in the Kangaroosâ Syd Barker Medal count to youngster Jy Simpkin - the sixth time the robust midfielder had enjoyed a top-two finish - and his emotional speech touched all those who tuned in to the event.

The 227-game veteran missed the final four matches of the season, having had successful surgery, and agreed his finish in the best-and-fairest count had been special.

Iâm sure few fans bar the most attentive had much interest in Nick Hindâs move from St Kilda to Essendon in last yearâs trade period.
But once the season was up and running and Hind was bursting through the middle for the Bombers, suddenly that move received lots of attention.

Last year the Saints send Hind and the then pick 77 for picks 67 and 74.
Hind went on to play 22 games for the Bombers as they returned to the finals.
I reckon supporters will be paying more attention to any such trades made this year.
Hard to know if any such players are in the running to make a move just yet, those moves seem to wait until right at the end of the period.
But with VFL and NAB League players getting so few games in recent years, perhaps more sides will try players who have been training at AFL level yet not getting games.
Australian NBA swingman and Olympic bronze medallist Josh Green is locked into his NBA career for the foreseeable future but the former GWS Giants academy player has showed off his kicking skills at the State Fair of Texas this evening.
The Dallas Mavericks player posted a story to his Instagram account showing him drop punting gridiron balls at some targets.
Check the video out below, he also tagged in the Giants just to remind them he hasnât forgotten how to kick a footy.
